On October 6, 2012, we took the trail to Blue Lake, in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The lake is nestled in a deep basin at 6250 ft, surrounded by granite cliffs. We saw some spectacular fall color, including stands of golden larches. Blue Lake is not far from Heather Pass, one of our treks from last year, and which is also shown on this site.
