One day, when we were passing Notre Dame, we saw a long procession of clergy arriving, in costumes of various denominations. We discovered later that the church was hosting a multi-faith multi-national conference of religious leaders, to discuss the persecution of Christians in the Middle East and Africa. The man in the red and white vestments is probably Cardinal André Vingt-Trois, Archbishop of Paris.
