Late September is a great time to visit the Mt. Baker Wilderness. The high altitude trails are free from snow, and there are brilliant fall colors. A sprained ankle prevented Cindy from taking this trip, but our friend Gayle was happy to come along. We took a leisurely hike to Ptarmigan Ridge, with me frequently stopping to shoot photos, and Gayle frequently stopping to collect blueberries.
